About the Institute

Nizhny Tagil Technological Institute (branch) of Ural Federal University was created in 1944 as Nizhny Tagil Industrial Institute. In 1947 it was included into Ural Industrial Institute (now known as UrFU).

Nizhny Tagil Technological Institute today is a large scientific and educational establishment in the Middle Urals. It is a modern higher educational establishment with rich traditions, providing pre-university training, programs of specialized secondary education, higher education (bachelor, master, post-graduate programs), professional development training and professional retraining.

The Institute is proud of its faculty members, who are world-renowned scientists, laureates of State awards, awards of the Council of Minsters of the USSR, Awards of the Cherepanovs, V.E. Grum-Grzhimailo, S. Mosin; V.I Vernadsky’s Medals, state and scientific grants for outstanding Russian scientists and other awards. Scientific works of the Institute scientists are published in Russia and abroad.

The Institute is proud of its students – the participants and winners of WorldSkills, hackathons, and other prestigious contests for students.
