Nizhny Tagil Technological Institute (branch) of UrFU supports scientific activity of high-school students, undergraduate and post-graduate students, young lecturers and professionals from industrial enterprises. The Institute not only encourages young people’s participation in various scientific-technological, practical and educational contests, but arranges and hosts scientific forums itself as well.

• «My Project for My Plant» scientific-technical tournament for schoolchildren, hosted together with JSC Research and Production Corporation Uralvagonzavod;
• Physics contest «Engineer of the 21st Century» for students of 9th-11th grades together with «Nizhny Tagil Institute of Metal Testing».

• open championship «Human resources for digital economy» for solving real engineering and business cases;
• Hackathon for solving real engineering and business cases («Innodiving» (2019), «Smart Factory» (2020));
• International scientific and practical conference «Youth and Science».

Students of NTI (branch) of UrFU are participants and winners of National cross-university championship «Young Professionals (Worldskills Russia)», National technological strategy championship «Metal Cup. Sustainable Development».
